  1. It was a very interesting event. I was spellbound with the readings of the letters and the recital of the poem by Darshan Zariwala. Of course, both the documentaries on Shri C.C. Mehta and Shri Jashwant Thaker were enlightening for the "Gujarati youth" who is so unaware their own "Gujarati literary and theatrical heritage". Also, it was a wonderful opportunity to have many prominent theatre figures such as Aditi Desai, Raksha Nayak, and Janak Dave under one roof. Janak Dave's introductions of both C.Metha and J.Thaker were delicious. darshan Zariwala was, of course, the star attraction but he did an excellent oration on the importance of mother tongue, here Gujarati, and how we should promote it to those who are unfortunate enough not to have been exposed well to it. Also, he added that we should not be conservative and insist upon the pure and sanskritised Gujarati; let it be the language of day-to-day dealing and yet rich and amusing.
